What Medallion Active Safeguard is
Active Safeguard is a micro-thin photocatalytic coating that we apply to surfaces after restoration work is finished. Photocatalytic means the coating is activated by light. Once applied, it’s designed to keep working on treated surfaces for its 5-year lifespan, with no need for you to reapply it.
It is an add-on after the real work is done. It does not replace mould remediation, cleaning, moisture control or odour-source removal. We apply it only once the property has been properly restored.
Where it is applied
- Whole Home: walls and ceilings throughout the home, up to 2,500 sq ft, typically completed within 4 hours.
- Touch Point: the surfaces people touch most, including doors and handles, bathrooms, counters, handrails, the cold-air return and ceiling fans.
- Larger or specialty spaces: commercial spaces, larger homes, RVs, food storage areas and patios need a site visit so we can scope the work properly.
How the process works
- Restoration first. Any mould, odour or contamination is dealt with, and the space is cleaned and dry.
- Preparation. We confirm the areas to be treated with you and protect anything that shouldn’t be coated.
- Application. The coating is applied as a fine, even micro-thin layer. It doesn’t change the look of your surfaces.
- Walkthrough. We review what was treated and answer your questions about day-to-day care.
